Samsung today (August 5) quietly unveiled its brand-new A-series handset, the Samsung Galaxy A23 5G. This smartphone has been listed on Samsung's official website with some specifications and images. The Galaxy A23 5G features a 6.6-inch Infinity-V display with Full-HD+ resolution. It runs on Android 12 based One UI 4.1 user interface. Although, Samsung has not revealed the name of the processor of this device, but the company mentioned that it is powered by an octa-core chipset. Also, the Galaxy A23 5G comes with a 5,000 mAh battery and Bluetooth v5.1 and dual-band Wi-Fi support for connectivity.
Samsung Galaxy A23 5G Expected Price and Availability
Samsung is yet to announce the pricing and availability details of the Galaxy A23 5G. But to get some idea, the price of predecessor Samsung Galaxy A22 5G can be seen. The Galaxy A22 5G was launched in the Indian market in July last year, priced at Rs 19,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage variant. Again, its 7 GB RAM + 128 GB inbuilt storage model is priced at Tk 21,999. Therefore, it is expected that the price of the new Samsung Galaxy A23 5G will be similar. The handset is said to be available in Grey, Mint and Violet color options.
Meanwhile, in the image shared by Samsung, the Galaxy A23 5G has also been seen in four color variants – Pink, Blue, White and Black. The company is yet to announce the commercial name for these color options. It is also not yet known which countries the Galaxy A23 5G will be available in.
Samsung Galaxy A23 5G Specifications
The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G comes with a 6.6-inch Infinity-V display with Full-HD+ resolution. Although, the company has not yet revealed the name of the chipset used in this device, only stating that it is powered by an octa-core processor. It will have 4GB/6GB/8GB RAM and 64GB/128GB inbuilt storage. Again, it is possible to increase the storage of the Galaxy A23 5G phone up to 1 terabyte using a microSD card. The handset runs One UI 4.1 custom skin based on Android 12.
For photography, the Samsung Galaxy A23 5G features a quad rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, the phone features an 8-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture on the front. The company said that camera sensor availability may vary depending on the market.
For power backup, the Samsung Galaxy A23 5G offers a 5,000 mAh battery. Besides, its connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth v5.1. The onboard sensors of this Samsung handset include a fingerprint scanner, gyro sensor, accelerometer, geomagnetic sensor, grip sensor, virtual lighting sensor and virtual proximity sensor. Finally, the Galaxy A23 5G measures 165.4 x 76.9 x 8.4 mm and weighs around 197 grams.
