5G services are rolling out in select cities in India, including Kolkata, from today, though you'll need a phone with 5G connectivity. 5G smartphones are currently available at different prices. But even if you just bought a 5G vivo, next-generation wireless services will not be available unless its network settings are configured. And so, Realme is bringing a new update to their phones with Jio 5G network support
A report by 91mobiles states that a software update is suddenly rolling out to Realme smartphones, with which users will get support for the Jio 5G network. Some screenshots of this update have surfaced, suggesting that the new software version will make the phone compatible with Jio's 5G network. Its changelog reads '5G network function support for Jio'.
All 5G smartphones are getting the update
The new software update has been rolled out for all Realme 5G smartphones. That is, as soon as your phone is 5G supported and Jio's 5G service is launched in your area, you can avail this offer. In addition to these changes, the new update also includes the September 2022 security patch.
Notifications of new updates have already started coming. But if for some reason you don't get the notification, then you can install the new update on your phone by selecting 'About Phone' and then 'System Update' option from Realme Phone's 'Settings' option.
